Ping Pong Care Campaign launches in the UK
BRITDOC Films recently announced that the BIG Lottery Fund has agreed to support the national roll out of the Ping Pong Care Campaign across the UK and Ireland.
This campaign encourages care homes, residential villages and day centres to screen the feature documentary Ping Pong (pingpongfilm.co.uk) as an inspiration for more active lifestyles in our senior years.
Ping Pong is a great film for inspiring people to live active and healthy lifestyles. New studies show the game to have remarkable mental and physical benefits for older people (as you’ll see from the film.) For instance, Alzheimer’s Weekly said “The clear increase in motor skills and cognitive awareness from playing table tennis is significant, if not remarkable, in its unique benefit for brain disease patients.”
Support from the BIG Lottery Fund will enable an additional 2000 care centres to get involved in the campaign, increasing from the 500 who have already signed up to take part. The support from the BIG Lottery Fund will support care centres with limited resources to apply for a complimentary Ping Pong Care Pack to introduce this activity in their venue.

• Evaluation forms to help us put you in touch with local table tennis providers to continue play on the long term.
