I recently attended 2 new TT Kidz sessions that were delivered by Ramsbottom and Halton TT Clubs through Table Tennis England’s Be TT programme. It was a delight to see both of the clubs actively busy with lots of youngsters being part of the TT Kidz with their new kit bags, red bats and tee shirts.
Ramsbottom TT Club delivered their session within their beginners session held at Bury Castle Leisure Centre. All of the youngsters looked to be having great fun enjoying all the game based activities as part of the TT Kidz programme.
It was great to see a good mix of the upper and lower age limits of TT Kidz (7-11 year olds) and also both boys and girls coming along to be part of TT Kidz.
The knocking the cups of the table was very popular with everyone!
Halton TT Club also had a full session with 15 youngsters participating. The session was run by 2 of Halton TTĀ Club coaches and 3 young club members also supported the session which was great to see.
It was the first sessions for the clubs, they both did a great job at delivering the new sessions to a new younger market. I will re-visit the clubs in a few weeks time to see how the sessions are progressing and the benefits the clubs are seeing from TT Kidz.
Premier Clubs will shortly be invited to apply for phase 2 of Be TT Kidz, so keep you eyes out on the Table Tennis England website if your club would like to be involved in delivered Fun, Engaging and Inspiring sessions to the next generation of youngsters!
