Coaches from the North of England enjoyed the opportunity to observe and analyse both the Ackworth Talent Development Centre and England Youth Squad  players and national coaches as part of a CPD session held yesterday at Ackworth School near Pontefract. The morning session involved a presentation on Observing, Analysing and Correcting Faults with the coaches given an opportunity to put their learning into practice with the Ackworth Talent Development Centre players.

There was then a rare question and answer opportunity with Simon Mills (Table Tennis England Head of Performance) and Head National Coach Alan Cooke. The afternoon session included a presentation on Non Directive Coaching with the candidates given an opportunity to watch and reflect on the England Youth Squad players being coached by the team of national coaches.

Sally Shutt (Table Tennis England Development and Volunteering Officer for the North) commented –

This was a great opportunity for coaches to gain insight from the whole spectrum of the Talent Pathway. The opportunity to get a closer insight into the current philosophies of our Performance team was particularly useful.
