Bolton Ping Pong Parlour

A new Ping Pong Parlour has been set up within an empty shopping unit in Crompton Place, Bolton. The parlour was officially opened on the 16th, April 2019 by the Mayor of Bolton, alongside the Crompton Place shopping centre management team, representatives from Bolton Council, Bolton Evening News, Hilton TTC members and the general public. The parlour is a rather impressive facility to play social table tennis and is taking the sport to the people.

It is proving to be a real success with the local people of Bolton. The tables are often being used and lots of people passing by are calling in to see what’s inside and having a go. Even the management company at the other retail shopping centre market place will be setting up a parlour, so there will be 2 parlours within Bolton, which is great news for table tennis.

Hilton TTC member and coach John Barker is on hand every Saturday morning to provide support and coaching tips to people that come along and have a go in the parlour.

It is hoped that the parlour can connect people from the parlour into playing at the local table tennis clubs, whereby they can continue to enjoy and play the sport.

The Ping Pong Parlour initiative is run by the Table Tennis England mass participation team and aims to get more people active in places they already spend their time. Click here to find out more about the initiative and to locate your nearest Parlour.
