News from National #TableTennisDay events around the country is continuing to come in to Table Tennis England – here are just a few of them.

At Chase Terrace Technology College in Burntwood, the tables in memory of former pupil and inspirational cancer fundraiser Stephen Sutton were in good use at lunchtime.

The last 10 minutes of the break included a one-point knockout competition, with trophy for the winner.

Britannia TTC in Ipswich joined Ormiston Academy summer fair, putting bats in hands and getting pupils and teachers to try the sport.

The school is trying to promote Table Tennis having recently acquired some tables, and the club set up a session involving a robot, coaching tables and a few frying pans!

At Luton Borough Council, more than 50 young mothers and staff took part in the day, with enough interest to look into setting up three new table tennis groups as a result.

Staff at the National Trust’s Clumber Park estate joined forces with Worksop Table Tennis League to put on an event on the centre’s natural tables, with dozens taking part and many taking away information about playing at local clubs. The Trust tables will be available every day from July 23 to September 4.

Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough held a very positive session with 25 Year 7 students in their induction session.

Outdoor Table tennis was big hit with Juniors at St John’s Catholic Primary in Bath.

Volunteer extraordinaire Brian Kerr organised a session from 10am to 7.30pm at Edmonton Leisure Centre, with six tables and a couple of mini tables.

Shoppers from the nearby centre were among those to come along and have a go, including beginners and those who had not played for some years.
