The Isle of Wight table tennis team are raising funds to compete at this summer’s Island Games.

A six-strong squad is travelling to Gotland in Sweden from June 24-30 to compete at the Games, which are held every two years and feature up to 14 sports, with competitors representing island nations and settlements from around the globe.

Competitors must either be born to a member island of the International Island Games Association or have lived on one at least 12 months prior to the Games.

The Isle of Wight line-up of Don Hobbs, Simon Proffitt, Daniel Burns, Oliver Staniforth, Teemesha Hobbs and Anna Joyce have organised a sponsored 50-mile cycle later this month to raise funds to help cover their travel and accommodation costs.

They have created a crowdfunding link and are asking for other members of the table tennis community to help them reach their goal.
