Table tennis enthusiasts are being urged to get behind a fundraising initiative to help a toddler access potentially life-saving cancer treatment.

Dawson Willock is the grandson of VETTS regular John Davies, who has also coached Liam Pitchford at the Nationals in recent years.

Dawson, who is 20 months old, has a rare form of liver cancer called hepatoblastoma. Unfortunately, chemotherapy has proved unsuccessful and the cancer has spread to his lungs.

The family now have the only option of travelling to the USA for groundbreaking treatment in Cincinnati – a procedure undertaken by the son of singer Michael Buble, who had the same condition but is now making good progress.

Dawson’s family need to raise an estimated £500,000 to cover all the costs and expenses and have set up a JustGiving page which the table tennis community is being asked to share and support if possible.
