Craig Bryant is the British League player of the year.

Bryant, who represented Cardiff City, helped the newly-promoted club keep their sport in the Premier Division.

As well as that achievement, he was awarded the accolade, according to the British League, for “picking up some fantastic wins during the season, which have seen his rankings rocket, and for being a great sportsman and setting a good example to the next generation of player”.

Among his victories, Bryant defeated Nottingham Sycamore’s Chris Doran 3-1 and won four player of the match awards during the course of the season.

Bryant said: “I’m incredibly happy and honoured to be awarded SBL player of the year. It was unexpected and topped off one my best seasons very nicely.

“A thanks goes to those who decided to award this to me.”
