Spread over two weeks, the Annual Halton Primary Schools Table Tennis Competition took place at Select Security Stadium, Halton Table Tennis Centre, organised by Community Coach Frank James with volunteers from Halton Table Tennis Club.

The Widnes Primary Schools event had 16 teams entered from nine schools with six players per team from Farnworth, St Basil’s, All Saints, St Bede’s, St Michael’s, Spinney Ave, Oakfield, Fairfield, and Lunts Heath.

St Bede’s A beat All Saints in the final 6-0 (St Bede’s A did not drop a game in the whole competition) with St Bede’s B finishing in third place.

Runcorn Primary Schools this year only had two schools and two teams with Beechwood beating Astmoor by a single game on countback after a 3-3 tie

Then followed the overall Halton Primary Schools Championships as St Bede’s went on to beat Beechwood to become Halton champions by a score of 6-0.

The Mayor of Halton Councillor Ged Philbin and Mayoress Rosalin Wong presented School Games medals and trophies to all the winners and runners-up.
