The Cambridge League had a successful weekend in the English League Cup event at Aylesbury as all three of their teams qualified for the national finals at Wellingborough in June.

The boys’ team of Adam Jepson, Harvey Dinkele and Max Schwiening finished second in their group in the Carter Cup, beating Aylesbury 5-0 and Wembley & Harrow 4-1, but losing to eventual group winners Watford 5-0. The top two teams advance.

The men’s team of Jepson, Daniel Fielding and Mirek Pazdzior won their Wilmott Cup group, beating Ilford 3-2 and Leicester 5-0. The other group was won by North Herts, as the team of Luke and Ethan Walsh beat both Milton Keynes and Aylesbury 5-0.

Meanwhile, the Cambridge ladies’ team of Yan Gao, Tracey Sambrook and Carrie Cope, and their North Herts counterparts went through without needing to play as Wembley & Harrow withdrew.
