Table Tennis England were delighted to support a successful junior schools competition for schools within Tower Hamlets on Wednesday 13th January, kindly hosted at St Paul’s Way School. This was coordinated by Abdal Ahmed, the extended school and competition manager from the Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation. Competitions were held in four categories; Under 13 Boys and Girls, and Under 15 Boys and Girls, with schools entering from Raines Foundation, George Green’s, Langdon Park, St Paul’s Way, Bishop Challoner, Stepney Green, Bow, Oaklands and Faith Academy.
Once underway the matches were highly competitive and competitors also provided umpiring during matches to support their fellow participants. The format used mirrored that used by the English Schools Table Tennis Association in their competitions, ensuring that all players had the opportunity to play in several matches during the afternoon.
Congratulations to Raines Foundation, who triumphed in all of the age categories! Bishop Challoner finished runners up in the Under 13 Girls, St Paul’s Way in the Under 13 Boys and George Green’s in the Under 15 Boys and Girls.
