Nottingham & District TTA stalwart Ron Bolton MBE has died at the age of 93.

A table tennis player since 1939, he was a Life Vice-President of the association, having been Chairman and General Secretary for many years.

He was awarded an MBE for services to sport in the Queen’s New Year Honours in 1981.
