Members of the public will have the chance to have a go at table tennis in Norwich on Saturday, thanks to the local league.
Norwich and District Table Tennis League, in conjunction with local clubs and the Norfolk County Table Tennis Association, are hosting a ‘Come and Try’ table tennis day at The Forum Centre in the city.
The day is designed to give local people the chance to either experience table tennis for the first time or to get back into the sport if they have played it in the past.
Norwich League Chairman Mark Dare said: “I have been impressed in the way that the local table tennis community has come together to put the event on. The Forum is a perfect venue to showcase our sport”.
In addition to ‘Come and Try’, the day will also feature exhibition matches from top local players including Neil and Lauren Charles, the chance to challenge a top league player, and a table tennis robot will be in operation to add to the fun. Local clubs and coaches will be in attendance to ensure the day runs smoothly,
Mark added: “This is a great opportunity for Norwich table tennis. Through the league and local clubs, such as Wensum TTC, Taverham TTC and Sprowston TTC, we are embarking on a strong development programme. Table tennis is a great sport for players of all ages for fun, competition, fitness and health. Our aim is to get more players into local clubs, and ultimately the Norwich League.”
The event is at The Forum, Norwich on Saturday August 13 from 9am to 5pm. Details are available from Mark Dare on 07809 838360.
