KP Young Ones have taken Group B of the Leicester & District League’s summer competition by storm after defeating Ian’s Wizards, who they also defeated in the County Association’s 4-a-side team handicap recently.

It was 13-7 with a good solid team effort spearheaded by Brajesh Patel who won five from six games. Oscar Bentley supported with three while Patrick Cox secured two from four as well as three in the doubles. For the Wizards, Ben Cooke and Himansu Mishra both won three from six.

Meanwhile Abbots Renegades were beating Fleckney Flames 18-2 in the same group with Fahed Sacoor undefeated in his six games while Bhulesh Rathod won five and Bradley Coleman three from four. Pete Wilson won the Flames’ couple.

The other two groups both have at least one match postponed but Jurassic Park got their competition off to a positive start in Group A by defeating club-mates, Knighton The Town 11-9, the latter now having had two very close defeats but getting closer.

Eddie Kwok was the star for Jurassic with four from six, Paul Ducksbury three and Mike Smith two from four as well as two doubles. Robert Geary three from six for KTT, Martin Pember two and Steve Bessant two from four.

The other fixture came in Group C when Electric City beat Villagers 14-6, Graham Piggin and Andy Wright both four from six, Dave Silvester three. Luke Blair four from six was the Villagers’ best player on the night.
