Following Halton Table Tennis Club becoming a Table Tennis England Talent Development Centre a series of 1 and 2 star tournaments have been planned, sponsored by Runcorn Rotary Club.

There was a good entry at the first, with a large contingent from North Wales. It was also the first major competition entered by pupils of St John’s Primary School, Liverpool. Select Security Stadium is the venue for all the events.

The first event was a success for four members of the Talent Squad, with Liam Bibby and Ruby Bennett winning the Under-13 Boys’ and Girls’ events, James Courtney taking the Under-18 Boys and Alain Barthelemy winning the Under-15 Boys’ Consolation.

The next event is Halton 2 star on Sunday November 27 – click here for more information and to download an entry form.

Awards were presented by the referee Karen Tonge MBE, who is President of Runcorn Rotary Club.
