The annual County (Greater Manchester’s) Schools Individuals Table Tennis Championships in conjunction with (ESTTA), are to be held on Sunday 7th February 2016. All schools/colleges in our area are invited to enter this tournament.
Venue: Oldham Hulme Grammar School Sports Hall (please note the sports hall is not based within the school itself so please use the following address and postcode in order to find the venue, which is accessible from the car park behind Hulme Court), 192 Chamber Road, OL8 4DJ
Quality of players: From beginners to the County’s best.
RULES
- All players must attend an affiliated school or college and be in full time education.
- Eight events – Boys under 19, 16, 13 and 11, and Girls under 19, 16, 13, and 11. Ages as at 31st August/1st September 2015. Players may enter ONE EVENT only.
- Suitable sports wear MUST (be worn. NO WHITE CLOTHING. Tracksuit trousers not to be worn during play.
- Entries to the Organiser by Friday, 29 January 2016.
- Bring your own bats. Balls will be provided.
- No entries will be accepted unless accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. The cost is £3 per player for this local part of the competition only. Only the winning players go through by right to the next stage of the National competition being held in April with winning schools teams being responsible for the entry fee (£24 per player made payable to the ESTTA). This fee covers the Zone Finals and, where players are successful, progression onto the Regional Finals and the National Finals.
- Competition Draw will be made by ESTTA Greater Manchester Schools County Secretary on 30/01/16.
- Players or teachers in charge should report to control by 9.00am (U11, U13) or 12.15pm (U16, U19). Late arrivals are liable to be scratched.
- Play will start in groups, followed by a knockout.
- Matches will be played best of 3 games 11 points up, changing service after every 2 points.
