Ely Table Tennis Club have recently been granted £9,600 from Sport England, to aid the expansion of their club and encourage new people into the participation of sport.

The money has allowed the club to develop a Satellite Club at Witchford Village College Sports Centre, having outgrown their previous space in Prickwillow.

There is also funding for new equipment and to allow professional coaches to develop the skills of beginners and seasoned players of all ages.

An exhibition of table tennis was put on for the public on Monday night, showcasing the talent in the area.

Club chairman Simon Braschi said he was delighted to see new faces at the event, and encouraged all interested parties to attend an initial free training session on a Monday evening from 7-9pm.
