The Annual Cheshire Schools event was held at Select Security Halton Stadium home of Halton Table Tennis Club on 10 November. It was organised by International Referee Karen Tonge MBE from Runcorn, assisted by Frank James, Ken Tonge, and Jordan Abbott with over 150 players participating

Teams from across Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton and Warrington took part with a larger entry consisting of 6 teams in Under 11s Boys & Girls, 13 teams in Under 13s Boys,14 in under 16s Boys, 4 in under 16 Girls events and  5 in Under 19 boys

Winners have qualified to represent Cheshire Schools TT Association in the Regional Zone at St Bede’s RC Sports College, Blackburn on 30/31 January 2015. With 2 of the runners up earning nomination to a Zone event for northern runners up.

 

 

Under 11 Boys played as a round robin

Winners St Bede’s School, Widnes beat Farnworth, Widnes 5-3 leaving them in 2nd

3rd place went to St Michaels, Widnes with 4th All Saints, Widnes

St Bede’s team :- Liam Murphy, Riley O’Brien, Bobby Finch, Max Spruce

 

Cheshire Schools Sandbach Under 13 a Winners 2015 012

Under 13 Boys   played in groups with 13 teams followed by a knockout

 Winners Sandbach School beat SS Peter & Paul Widnes into 2nd  A  5-0  in the final

3rd place SS Peter & Paul B beating Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy 5-3  who finished 4th

Joint 5th Tytherington C, Wade Deacon A and  B, Sir Thomas Boteler B

Sandbach team :- James Courtney, Braden Jones, James Sisca, Connor Coyle

 

 

Under 16 Boys   played in groups with 14 teams followed by a knockout

 Winners  Wade Deacon High beat Brine Leas, Nantwich in the final  6-2

Sandbach beat Heath School Runcorn into 3rd place 5-2

Joint 5th Kingsgrove, Heath School B and C, Winsford Academy

Wade Deacon team:- Owen Webb, James Grindley, Jack Jones, Jordan Grindley

Brine Leas nominated as runner up for regional Tyrese Richards, Adam Caunt, Josh Lamprell, Bryan Oakes

 

 

Under 19 Boys  played as a round robin

Winners Tytherington High A , Macclesfield beat Ormiston Bolingbroke Runcorn 6-2.

3rd place went to Tytherington B team with Riverside College, Widnes in 4th.

Tytherington team :-Doug Beech, Alex Holt, Adam Smith, Darren Smith.

Ormiston BA nominated for regional as runner up Ryan Makin. Aaron Flynn, Liam Edwards and Josh Koper

 

 

Under 11 Girls  

Winners Farnworrth, Widnes who beat St Michael’s, Widnes in the final 5-3

Farnworrth team:- Ruby Bennett, Sarah Curlett, Sarah Dolan, Rachel McCurdy

St Michael’s team :- Lucy Carr, Chloe Anderson, Isobel McCarthy, Millie Hanrahan

 

Cheshire Schools 2015 UNDER 16 Girls Wade Deacon 010

Under 16 Girls  played as a round robin

Winners Wade Deacon High, Widnes beat Tytherington High, Macclesfield 7-1

3rd place went to Kingsgrove, Crewe with Ormiston Bolingbroke 4th

Wade Deacon team:- Robyn Cosgrove, Alex Bowman, Amy Redman, Yasmin Leather retaining their title from last year.

SS Peter and Paul Widnes winners of Under 13 Boys Matthew McCarthy, Frankie Carson, Jack Clemson and Lewis Talbot after a 7-1 win over Brine Leas, Nantwich last years winners. Winners of Under 13  Girls in their first entry was Fallibroome Academy from Macclesfield. Under 16 Girls Winners Wade Deacon Robyn Cosgrove, Alex Bowman, Amy Redman, Yasmin Leather. Runners Up Tytherington High; Under 16 Boys Winners  Wade Deacon A of Liam Beamish, Andrew Lawler, Henry Wilde and Owen Webb. Runners Up Sandbach School; Winners Under 19 Boys Riverside and Cronton College Widnes Tom Ray, Jordan McGarry, Lewis Eccleston and Michael Johnson

Runners Up Nominated as best runners up Brine Leas in under 13 boys; Sandbach School in Under 16s Boys, and Tytherington  in Under 16 Girls
