The bottom of the table action in division three of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League saw Hatfield Peverel C beat Danbury F 8-2 – a result that probably consigns Danbury F to relegation.

Bob Garson was the Hatfield Peverel match winner and he beat John Robinson 3-1 (12-10, 9-11, 11-5, 11-3) and  Dave Marsh 3-2 (9-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-8). He completed an excellent hat-trick by defeating Herbie Smith 3-0 (11-7, 11-5, 12-10).

Hatfield Peverel B stay third. Neil Freeman won his three singles as they beat OCs D 7-3. David Porter emerged as a 3-2 (11-5, 16-18, 11-8, 5-11, 12-10) winner over Dave Fiddeman.

Danbury E ran out 6-4 winners over Chelmsford D. Ken Sheard led the way with a hat-trick and he beat Jarek Pietraszuk 3-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-9), Dave Parker 3-1 (11-6, 11-3, 9-11, 11-9) and Wiktor Delimat 3-0 (11-2, 12-10, 11-5).

In division two OCs B and OCc C fought out a 5-5 draw. OCs B’s Kevin Worthington led the way with a hat-trick and Trevor Carter won twice. Carter beat Charles Yeung 3-2 (10-12, 11-8, 12-10, 5-11, 11-9) and Peter Windley 3-2 (11-4, 11-9, 4-11, 12-14, 11-8) in the two closest games of the night.

In division four Danbury H did well to beat the leaders OCs E 6-4 – good going as it was Nat Ravlic who won his three singles for the Old Chelmsfordians side. Ravlic had to pull out all the stops to get the better of Dave Goody 3-2 (8-11, 15-13, 11-9, 6-11, 14-12) in the last game of the night.

Danbury J versus Writtle D was a two-a-side match. Eamon Hall won twice, beating David Meah 3-2 (7-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-13, 12-10) and Andy Fox 3-1 (9-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8) to give Danbury J a 5-4 advantage.

Chelmsford F stay top in division five. Adi Kamma, Jason Clark and Amanda Hogger all won twice as they defeated Chelmsford G 7-3. Steve Chambers showed up well for Chelmsford G with a 11-7, 6-11, 11-5, 8-11, 12-10 victory against Adi Kamma.

Highwood D were hard pushed to beat Hatfield Peverel D 6-4. NicolaPippen was their match-winner with three victories. She did well to beat Richard Drozd 3-2 (8-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7) in her opening encounter.

Bottom side Anglia Ruskin University impressed against Hatfield Peverel D and with Takunda Nerutanga and newcomer Will Goodchild both winning three times they ran out 8-2 winners. Goodchild completed his hat-trick with a 3-2 (11-8, 12-14, 11-4, 9-11, 11-5) victory over Richard Drozd.

Chelmsford J did well to beat the higher-placed Galleywood B 8-2. Richard Gardiner led the way with a hat-trick of 3-0 wins.
In division 2A of the CLICK League there was a defeat for the leaders Galleywood Eagles who lost 3-2 to Galleywood Hawks. Aidan Noguchi twice won 3-0 for the Eagles beating Charlie Craig (11-7, 11-9, 14-12) and Vineeth Kamma (11-8, 11-7, 15-13) but it was Kamma and Craig who won the all-important doubles 3-1 (2-11, 11-9, 11-4, 11-7).

Galleywood Eagles returned to winning ways against West Maldon. They won 4-1 with Aidan Noguchi winning both of his singles. He has a 90% record (nine wins out of 10).

In division 2B Danbury Demons stay top but they were hard pushed to beat Black Notley Buccaneers 3-2.  Ewan Hynd and Dan Atkinson both won one singles but they combined to beat Jonny Evans and Elliot Game in the deciding doubles 3-2 (11-13, 12-10, 9-11, 11-1, 11-7).

Black Notley Barracudas were 4-1 winners against Chelmsford Tigers in division 2C. Nicholas Grice won twice to give the Black Notley side the edge. Grice defeated Nathan Tew 3-0 (15-13, 11-5, 11-9) and Louis Burnett 3-1 (11-8, 3-11, 11-3, 11-7).
