Table Tennis England is pleased to announce the launch of a new Table Tennis Club at Sidings Community Centre in Kilburn! The club is the culmination of a great deal of work by the Centre and Camden Council, with support from Table Tennis England. The plans for inter-generational play alongside junior and over 50’s sessions are very exciting and will provide a fantastic activity that is open to all in the community.
Sidings owns six Table Tennis Tables and has been running Over 50’s and Junior sessions in recent months. The two sports coordinators at the centre have recently completed their qualifications as coaches with the National Governing Body to ensure they can provide participants with the skills they need to improve their ability in the sport. The club provides the first step in growing Table Tennis participation within the borough.
Table Tennis England Development Officers Duncan Jenkinson and Craig Bryant both attended the launch, along with Sherwin Ramata from Moberly Table Tennis Club, which is located in Hammersmith. The popularity of the club was evident with a number of talented youngsters and older players taking part, and attendees enjoyed the exhibition provided by Craig and Sherwin. The Mayor Larraine Revah, also kindly visited the club and emphasised the opportunity now available to the community to enjoy playing the sport each week.
