The Mass Participation team at Table Tennis England are working to promote table tennis playing opportunities to people who would not normally have access to the game.

Ping!, Ping Pong Parlours, Loop at Work and Ping in the Community are all projects contributing towards this aim, but the team are now calling on the table tennis community to help them in their mission to promote all table tennis opportunities existing across the nation.

The Ping! Places to Play map, plots park tables, tables in community spaces, tables in bars and cafes, table tennis clubs offering open sessions – in fact any playing opportunity that exists to the general public.

The map covers the whole of England and currently has 838 places to play recorded, but now they’re calling for help in growing this list.

Keely Armitt, Head of Participation explains:

We know that there are many more tables, table tennis sessions and clubs out there which are not recorded on our map.  Our aim is to get everyone active and enjoying the game, and we’ve seen that by bringing the opportunity to play to people who wouldn’t normally engage in the sport, we can change perceptions and behaviours.

So we’re urging the table tennis community, if they know of a table in their local park, pub or community to inform us so we can get it plotted on the map and encourage even more people to play.
