It’s that time of year when clubs are asked to affiliate to the Table Tennis England PremierClub Programme.

The PremierClub programme aims to create a national network of clubs that work together to grow participation in table tennis and support existing players to create a community from which future Internationals will emerge.

PremierClub affiliation fees for the 2015/16 season have been frozen at £35 per club and news which will welcomed by PremierClubs is that Associate Membership for players will be free for the 2015/16 season.

It is still however a requirement of the PremierClub programme that clubs register all players as at least Associate Members with Table Tennis England. This is because the insurance policy for the PremierClub is only valid if all participants are registered members of Table Tennis England. Failure to do so could leave the club liable for legal costs in the event of an accident.

The playing season will run from August 1st, 2015 to July 31st 2016 and PremierClubs registration is open until October 31st, 2015 for the 2015/16 season.

Table Tennis England would also like to remind clubs that we are currently undergoing a large review of our club development programmes and offers. We hope to have completed this by the start of the 2016/2017 season (August, 2016) to support clubs in their development.

There is a huge amount of work still to be done, but it’s likely that there may be a very different look to the PremierClub affiliation programme to ensure clubs can get the maximum benefit and develop in a way that suits them and their direction. We will keep you informed as it develops but if you have any questions or feedback please email our Clubs and Disability Officer, Steve McFadyen, at [email protected].
