Liam Pitchford and Sam Walker have been handed a possible meeting at the Croatia Open.
The English No 2 and No 3 players are both seeded for the event in Zagreb – Pitchford eighth and Walker 32nd – and the draw has pitted them together in the last 32, if they win their opening matches.
Pitchford will face Felipe Olivares of Chile, who is world-ranked No 227, while Walker’s opponent is world No 336 Miguel Vilchez of Spain.
David McBeath and Sam Mabey are also competing in Zagreb, but both were eliminated in the group stage of the Men’s Singles – McBeath losing both his matches 4-3 from winning positions. Mabey was eliminated in the group stage of the Under-21s.
McBeath and Walker were beaten in their first match in the Men’s Doubles by Panagiotis Gionis of Greece and Germany’s Wang Xi.
