The search is on for the superstars of grassroots table tennis as we open the Pride of Table Tennis Awards for the 2016/17 season.

Today, we are launching both the local and national stages of the awards which could see hundreds of volunteers honoured across the country.

For the local stage, we are urging members of the table tennis family to award the accolade of Volunteer of the Year in their own clubs and leagues.

Last year more than 60 Club Volunteers of the Year awards were handed out across the country. For this year, Table Tennis England has decided to expand this award to encompass not only clubs but leagues too.

We are looking for individuals who have shown dedication and commitment beyond the call of duty, and who have sacrificed time and energy to help support their club. This could be within coaching, administration, media and press support or any other area.

The Club/League Volunteer of the Year gives local organisations the chance to reward their volunteers, which in turn makes the volunteers feel proud and recognised for their hard work and promotes and encourages others into starting their volunteer journeys.

Any club or league nominating a local winner will receive a Pride of Table Tennis Club/League Volunteer of the Year 2017 certificate from Table Tennis England to present in their club.

All the Club/League Volunteers of the Year will be put forward into one of the categories for the regional and national stage of the Pride of Table Tennis Awards.

You can also nominate directly into the Regional and National stages of the Pride of Table Tennis awards in any of the categories below.

  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Technical Official of the Year
  • Partner of the Year
