The World Championship of Ping Pong returns to Alexandra Palace next month – and Table Tennis England members can get up to 33% off tickets!

Now into its fifth year at the iconic venue, the WCPP takes place over the weekend of January 28 and 29, 2017, and will be broadcast live throughout on Sky Sports.

Tickets are now on sale for for what promises to be a weekend of speed, power and skill. Using traditional sandpaper rackets, the World Championship of Ping Pong is a throwback to the early days of table tennis and is catapulting ping pong on to the international television stage.

All Table Tennis England members qualify for up to 33% off tickets. To take advantage of this exclusive offer, simply visit www.worldchampionshipofpingpong.net and use discount code TTE on the ticketing page.

The tournament takes place over four sessions, with a double elimination group stage featuring eight groups played out on eight tables on the Saturday afternoon (noon-4pm) before the last 32 battle it out on Saturday evening (6-9.30pm) to make the final day’s play.

Sunday afternoon (12.30-4pm) features the last 16 while the evening session (6-9.30pm) sees the four quarter-finals followed by the two semi-finals and then the championship match where the destination of the winner’s cheque and magnificent trophy – won last year by our own Andrew Baggaley – will be determined.

All matches will be best of three games, race to 15 points, except the final which is best of five sets.
