Fangxian Yi

Former world top-50 player Fangxian Yi has entered the Heritage Oil Open

The former Chinese national team player, who has also been based in the USA, has not competed in an ITTF international competition since the end of 2011 and has hence been removed from the world ranking list. However, she was ranked as high as 44 in the world at 19 years old.

Yi will be joined by her good friend Jessy Zhj, who is studying at Cambridge University and finished second in the British University’s Women singles competition, losing to Clara Chau.

Both the men’s and women’s competitions have outstanding competitors and will be a great opportunity for those players preparing for the Commonwealth Games and for spectators unable to obtain tickets for the Games. Spectating at the Heritage Oil will be free.

The main event is being played up to the quarter-final stage at K2, Crawley on Saturday July 5th and the semi-finals and finals will be played at the BT Sport studio on Monday July 7th.
