Alex Ramsden will be playing his first World Tour event

England are taking a full complement of Juniors and Cadets to the Hungarian Open next month.

Daniel Lawrence, Sam Mabey and Tom Jarvis comprise the Junior Boys’ team, while the Junior Girls’ line-up is Tin-Tin Ho, Maria Tsaptsinos and Lois Peake.

Alex Ramsden and Harry Dai represent the Cadet Boys – the first World Tour event for both – and Denise Payet and Kate Cheer are in the Cadet Girls’ category.

The event takes place in Szombathely, near the border with Austria, from November 5 to 9.

National Talent Development Coach Matt Stanforth said: “It’s one of the premier Junior and Cadet events – we know it was a really good event last year, where the players got a lot of experience and performed quite well.

“Helshan Weerasinghe (England Junior No 1) couldn’t be selected because of exams, but we’ve picked the strongest team we can at the moment.

“It’s got a full entry list, so it’s going to be a tough competition but the players are working hard and it will give them and the coaches a good indication of where they are at the moment as we work towards the European Youth Championships next year.”
