Darius Knight and Karina Le Fevre took the singles titles at the Crawley Grand Prix.

Both had been beaten in the semi-finals of the first Grand Prix of the season in Liverpool but went one better to reach the final, and then completed the job by lifting the trophies.

Men’s Singles

Darius Knight was the champion of the Men’s Singles.

Prior to the final Knight had worked his way through his previous rounds with relative ease. His opponent Michael Tauber put up a determined fight which saw the players tied after two sets. Knight managed to clinch the third 11-7 which led to an exhilarating fourth in which the players exchanged points in a nervy game with Tauber pushing to take the game the distance.

However, in the end it was Knight who came through, winning the fourth end 15-13 and taking the match 3-1.

Women’s Singles

Both Karina Le Fevre and Emily Bolton looked strong heading into the final with neither player having dropped a set in their previous rounds.

Bolton came out of the gates fastest, winning the first 11-7. Le Fevre managed to pull the match back to 1-1, only for Bolton to once again take the lead.

However, after a tense and incredibly close fourth end Le Fevre managed to take control of the game, edging it 13-11 before a commanding 11-1 fifth game to win the match.

Under-21 Men’s Singles

Jack Bennett was victorious over Ethan Walsh in the final. The older player got his nose in front by winning the first two, and although Walsh pulled back a tight third, Bennett completed his victory in the fourth.
