The first day of the Crawley Grand Prix went off with a bang!
Read on to see what unveiled on a busy day of play at K2, the second venue on the 2016/17 Grand Prix Series.

Men’s Band 1
Callum Evans came out on top in Saturdays Men’s Band 1 final. Andreas Pusch took the first set, but after that there was no looking back for Evans who took the match 3-1.
Women’s Band 1
Emily Bolton picked up the top prize with a defeat of Lois Peake in the final. Bolton came from two sets down to secure a 3-2 win in a thrilling contest.
Men’s Band 2
In a match that swung back and forth Joe Clark took the victory. Shandor Czuczor pushed Clark to a fifth set but was unable to capitalise in a one sided 5th end.
Women’s Band 2
Lois Peake took the spoils in the Women’s band 2 final, confidently beating Charlotte Bardsley in a straight sets win. Bardsley may feel unfortunate as a thrilling 2nd set slipped through her grasp 16-14.
Men’s Band 3
Emmanuele Delsante of Italy showed his class beating Naphat Boonyaprapa in 3 sets. On this occasion the Italian proved too much to handle for Boonyaprapa.
Women’s Band 3
Fei Fei Pei dropped her first set but bounced back to win the Women’s band three final in style. After a strong first set from opponent Stephi Cross, Pei stepped up her game and closed out the match 3-1.
Men’s Band 4
Finn Morgan-Bayliss held off a determined opponent in Sam Chesterman in the final. After Finn took the first two ends Chesterman fought back to take the match to a fifth. However, Morgan-Bayliss managed to hold firm and clinch the win.
Women’s Band 4
Patricia Ianau started strong against Lincolnshire’s Darcie Proud. Proud sparked a potential comeback winning the 3rd game but Ianau held her nerve and took the match in 4 (4, 5, -9, 5).
Men’s Band 5
Richard Jermyn turned in a strong performance to win the Men’s band 5 final. Hiroshi Furuta struggled to get a foothold in the match and Jermyn was quick to capitalise. The match ended 3-0.
Men’s Band 6
Greg Green was in superb form winning the Men’s band 6 event comfortably with a straight sets win (6, 11, 9) over Akash Shah.
