Dear Members

It is with regret I write to advise you that I have received and accepted notice of retirement from our Chief Executive, Richard Yule. He will continue in his role until the end of May on a number of key projects he is involved with and assist in the preparation of the terms and conditions in the advertising process for his replacement.

Richard, who has been in post since July 1995, said “ It has been an honour and a privilege to serve the Association but I firmly believe as the Association embarks on a new four year Whole Sport Plan cycle, the time is right to introduce some new energy and leadership to the position of Chief Executive.”

As ETTA Chairman, I have worked with Richard over the last ten years and it would be difficult to quantify the impact he has had upon our sport which has been outstanding. He has worked with dedication and determination for table tennis both within the ETTA and in his many negotiations with our funding partners which have delivered significant levels of investment in our sport.

I am sure you will want to join me in wishing him well and in his own words “onwards and upwards” for the future.

Regards

Alex Murdoch, ETTA Chairman
