Following England’s success in the World Cup on Tuesday, the quarter final match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 7th. We have received a number of queries about the AGM timings and whether it is possible to make a change to accommodate many people’s desire to watch the match.

We therefore propose to start lunch as soon as the morning session concludes (which may be earlier than 1pm) and reduce the lunch break to 30 minutes. We will then start the AGM at 1.30pm (or earlier). As soon as the AGM concludes, which could be sooner than the one hour allocated, the Awards presentations will commence.

If at all possible we will aim to finish the day’s proceedings by 3pm or shortly thereafter to allow those that wish to watch the match to do so. However, this will not be to detriment of the day’s important business.

Agenda

13.00 -13.30    Lunch

A number of important updates will be discussed at the event, which takes place at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel, Hinckley.

The day will begin with an update on Table Tennis England’s governance review.

Run by an Independent Review Panel (IRP), the review was launched to allow Table Tennis England to listen to the views of members whilst remaining in compliance with the code of governance.

This weekend, the IRP will present its final report from phase one and hold a Q&A session. A copy of the final report can be found in the attachments below, along with a copy of the Board’s response to the report.

Among the recommendations is the creation of a Membership Advisory Group that would provide expert advice from all areas of the sport.

The AGM will include the proposed affiliation fee rise for 2018/19.

In line with the five-year strategy released last year, the proposed fees are:

Player Membership: £16 for adults; £8 for cadets & juniors.

Player Licence: £38 for adults; £19 for cadets & juniors

Associate Membership: free of charge.

All members are welcome to attend.
