Twelve young people from the Gunners Table Tennis Club, based at St Aloysius College, Highgate, London linked to the Arsenal Premier League 4 Sport programme, took part in a ETTA Young Officials course, as part of a training programme to encourage more young people into officiating and volunteering.

The twelve candidates who all passed the Junior Umpire Award will all attend The Fred Perry Urban Cup finals on Saturday 5th February to assist with volunteer roles and umpiring at the event.

Ross McKinley Arsenal PL4S Co-ordinator said “the numbers taking part in the club have increased greatly over the last year, the skills learnt today will help the players to organise competitions and umpire matches. For some the course has also counted towards their PE GCSE work”.
