Following the success of last year’s Table Tennis Young Ambassador (TTYA) Programme we are delighted to announce that applications for the 2019-20 season are NOW OPEN.
The programme presents a great opportunity for clubs looking to grow their volunteer base and get a helping hand by signing up to the Table Tennis Young Ambassador scheme.
The TTYA programme will continue to incentivise young people volunteering at table tennis clubs who log a certain number of hours towards different levels of awards.
Greg Yarnall, Head of Development & Volunteering at Table Tennis England, said: “It has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm shown by our Young Ambassadors. It’s vital that the sport engages with young people, taking their views on board and harnessing their skills – as well as helping to take the pressure off existing volunteers.”
In 2018-19, 22 Clubs and Leagues registered for the programme. Halton TTC are one of many clubs who have supported a Young Ambassador. Volunteer Mentor Karen Tonge MBE said: “It’s great that Table Tennis England are supporting and recognising our young club volunteers, to help clubs to continue to grow and develop its membership base.
“The young people are a great addition to attending club meetings, coming up with new ideas and IT/marketing support, to help our ageing population of adult volunteers within our clubs.
“I would certainly recommend all table tennis clubs to sign their young volunteers up to the TTE Young Ambassador Scheme.”
