REGIONAL CHAIRMAN – YORKSHIRE

Members from the Yorkshire Region (Counties of South Yorkshire and Yorkshire) are invited to apply for the volunteer role of Regional Chairman –Yorkshire that is to be appointed by the Table Tennis England Board.

The main task of this proactive and diverse role is to chair the Yorkshire Regional Committee whose responsibilities include supporting development initiatives by Development staff and encouraging development elsewhere by counties, leagues and clubs, organising regional coaching squads and encouraging wider coaching activity, organising regional competitions-including those which are qualification stages for national championships -as well as providing information and feedback to drive forward national issues

Regional Chairmen are members of the Regional Forum-chaired by Phil Goulding – which will meet nationally three times a year exchanging information and experience and discussing relevant issues with Board representatives and senior staff; they will also be invited to attend National Council.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Chairman who will need to be conversant with national and regional issues, possess good communication skills, be willing to work positively with all relevant partners, appreciate the roles of Area staff and volunteers as well as being able to fulfil the responsibilities indicated above

Table Tennis England has redefined the responsibilities of regions with a view to enhancing and developing their role over the next years; Board and senior staff support will be available to help in this process

Appropriate expenses will be paid by Table Tennis England for attendance at relevant meetings
