Woodlands TTC celebrated Christmas in style

Woodlands Table Tennis Club in West Sussex are organising a National Table Tennis Day event to ‘take table tennis to the public’ at the Guildbourne Shopping Centre.

The Rustington-based club are running the event on 19th July on behalf of the Worthing and District Table Tennis Association to get more people into the sport and into the local league.

Woodlands, who are already growing in numbers with two venues supplying 48 players into 10 teams in the league, will host three tables and a robot in the shopping centre in Worthing to have demonstrations, challenges and allow the public to have a go from 10am to 2pm.

Dave Richardson, Chairman of Woodlands TTC, said: We have asked each of the clubs in the area to print off some leaflets to tell people about their club so that if a member of the public is visiting Worthing from Steyning for the day, then Steyning TTC can give them information.

“We will all be wearing our relevant club shirts which hopefully will make an impact. We will have some members in their 80’s & one who is 92 there on the day. It shows how much fun everyone can have from old to young, from able to disabled alike.”

The event can be found at the Guildbourne Shopping Centre, Chapel Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 1LZ on Saturday 19th July.
