England’s World Team Championships campaigns get under way in Sweden later today, and the men’s team have been talking about their chances of more success on the world stage.

Paul Drinkhall, Liam Pitchford and Sam Walker spoke to the ITTF about their chances of repeating their memorable bronze medal two years ago.

England men, with David McBeath and Tom Jarvis completing the squad, have their first match at 4pm against Belarus, while the women’s line-up of Tin-Tin Ho, Maria Tsaptsinos and Denise Payet begin an hour earlier against Dominican Republic.

The later stages of the Worlds will be shown on Eurosport, beginning with the women’s quarter-finals on May 3, live from 10am, with further live broadcasts at 4pm and 7pm the same day.

There will also be delayed coverage of the action every day from May 4 to May 7 inclusive – check listings guides for full details.

You will be able to watch the action from the whole competition via the ITTF website by clicking here.

The BBC were keen to broadcast the action from Halmstad on their website, but the level of commercial branding meant they were unable to do so.

However, the BBC remain keen to show more live table tennis on their website after coverage of the ITTF Team World Cup, PG Mutual National Championships and Commonwealth Games produced good viewing figures.
