The Table Tennis England AGM for 2020 has been held online due to the coronavirus restrictions.

Almost 100 delegates joined the Zoom call to conduct the business of the meeting, which included confirmation that the membership fees for the 2020/21 season remain unchanged from 2019/20.

Elected Deputy Chairman Don Parker formally took up his position at the AGM following his election last month. The AGM also approved the Financial Statements.

Also at the meeting, details were revealed about those persons receiving Honours as follows

  • Honorary Life Members: Stuart Sherlock, Keith Thomas
  • Vice-Presidents: Simon Griew, Brian Jackson, Jan Johns, John Mapletoft, Gary Wood
  • Keith Ponting President’s Memorial Award: Alan Ransome OBE
  • Malcolm Scott Award: Jo Keay-Blyth
  • Leslie Forrest Memorial Award: John Spiers
  • Ivor Montagu Award: David Goulden
  • AK Vint OBE Staff Award: Johnathon Driscoll
  • Victor Barna Award: Liam Pitchford
  • Johnny Leach MBE Most Improved England Player of the Year Award: Tom Jarvis

These could not be presented due to the meeting being online. However, all will be presented with their Honours at an appropriate occasion after the current restrictions have been fully lifted.

The following Vice-Presidents were re-elected for 2019-22: Dave Berriman, Pat Chatwin, Brian Davison, John Hilton, Richard B Hudson, Alan Hydes, Vanda Jones, Jim Kenny, Sheila King, Dorothy Macfarlane, Ken Mathews, Carole Moore, Valerie Murdoch, Mike Payne, Ken Phillips, Erica Prean, Tom Purcell, Jose Ransome, Lynda Reid, Jackie Sands, Carol Seward, Matthew Syed, Ken Tonge, Graham Trimming, Ron Washington, June Watts, Estyn Williams.

The AGM also received an update about our new membership categories, plus a video guide to the Impact Report website, which we created to share with Sport England our work over the course of the latest funding cycle. Another video showed the highlights of the 2019/20 season across all areas of the organisation.
