Sam Walker won on his first appearance in the Champions League to help his club Hennebont secure a place in the knockout stage.

Walker, who did not play in the first two matches, came into the side for the clash against De Boer Taverzo of the Netherlands as Hennebont knew victory would take them through as group runners-up.

And it was a 3-0 win for the French side, Walker defeating Gabrielius Camara 3-0 (11-9, 11-5, 11-3) in the second match to add to the opening 3-0 win for Omar Assar over Dorian Nicolle. Cedric Nuytinck sealed overall victory with a 3-1 win over Yannick Vostes.

The knockout stage begins on Tuesday, with Liam Pitchford’s UMMC first on court against Bogoria Mazowiecki of Poland at 9am UK time. Hennebont are in action against FC Saarbrucken of Germany at 7.30pm.

The other two ties see Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg (RUS) face Roskilde (DEN) and Borussia Dussesdorf play Sporting Clube de Portugal. You can watch the action live on ETTU TV.
