Sam Walker has climbed into the top 200 in the world rankings.

The Worksop teenager soared from No 268 to No 175, principally on the back of his good performance at the Hungarian Open in Budapest last month.

He beat world No 79 Kalinikos Kreanga of Greece and the No 168, Jeremy Petiot of France, in a run which took him to the last 32.

He also reached the quarter-finals of the Under-21 Singles in Budapest.

Elsewhere in the rankings, Paul Drinkhall and Liam Pitchford remain in the top 50, down slightly from 33 to 37 and 46 to 47 respectively.

Andrew Baggaley is at No 152 and Darius Knight at 230, with David McBeath up from 322 to 310 and Helshan Weerasinghe from 433 to 415.

Tin-Tin Ho is into the world’s top 200 – up 14 places from 214 – and she also stands at 80 in the under-21 list and 29 in the under-18s.

Kelly Sibley moves up from No 155 to 150, Hannah Hicks climbs from 333 to 312 and Karina Le Fevre is up at 331 having been 358 previously. Maria Tsaptsinos has moved up from 466 to 427.
