Selection Criteria

The participants will consist of the current holder of the World Cup, the World Champion, the Continental Champion or the strongest current player from each of the six continents, one player from the host Association, the top eight players from the World Ranking List and two ‘wild card’ selections.

This year Japan were offered an additional ‘wild card’ entry as part of the continued effort to support Japanese elite sport following the devastating events earlier this year.

However, following Park Mi Young’s withdrawal, due to injury, the ‘wild card’ allocation is back to two as this ‘wild card will not be directly replaced.
