James Smith, Joe Cope and Shayan Siraj qualified for the knockout rounds of the Swedish Junior Open.
The trio all finished second in their Junior Boys’ Singles groups, with Smith and Cope then receiving byes to the second round.
However, all three lost in their first knockout matches, Siraj going out to Nikhil Kumar (USA) 4-0 (13-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-9) in the first round.
In the second round, Smith was beaten 4-2 (11-7, 9-11, 11-2, 13-15, 11-8, 11-9) by seventh seed Takeru Kashiwa of Japan and Cope went down 4-1 (11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 11-4) to Cedric Meissner of Germany, both of whom went on to reach the quarter-finals.
Sam Chesterman, Ethan Walsh and Samuel Kwan all reached the third round of the consolation singles, while Reece Chamdal went out in the first consolation round.
In the doubles, Siraj & Smith and Cope & Walsh reached the second round, both pairs going out in tight five-setters.
