Tin-Tin Ho was today knocked out of the World Junior Championship in Shanghai.
She was beaten 4-0 in the last 64 of the girls’ singles by Korea’s Eunchae Ji (10-12, 5-11, 3-11, 8-11).
Yesterday, the 16-year-old Londoner won both her singles group matches to progress to the knockout stage.
Playing in Group 16, first saw off Thailand’s Jarinya Pramuansin in four straight (11-8, 11-6, 11-3, 11-5).
She then came from behind to beat Giorgia Piccolin of Italy 4-1 (8-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-5, 11-4).
Charlotte Carey of Wales also reached the same stage, finishing as runner-up in Group 23. She beat India’s Shruti Vijay Amrute 4-2 and Ajoke Ojomu of Nigeria 4-1 and lost 4-2 to Chia-Hsuan Lin.
She then lost 4-2 to Adina Diaconu of Romania in the last 64, despite coming from 2-0 down to level. The final score was 6-11, 2-11, 11-9, 11-9, 3-11, 9-11.
