Tin-Tin Ho successfully advanced to the second stage of the Girls Singles competition at the 2012 World Cadet Challenge in Mangilao, Guam.

The 14-year-old, England’s first female representative at the World Cadet Challenge, was top seed in group 5 and managed to progress as the group winner despite intense pressure from Canadian Christina Pui.

After winning her first game 3-0, Tin-Tin faced Pui to effectively seal her place in the main draw, however she found herself 2-1 down to the North American – needing to win the next two games to resume control of the group.

She managed to do so, winning the next two games 11-8 and 11-9 before comfortably beating Algeria’s Lynda Loghrabi 3-0 to secure a seeding for the first round draw.

In the last 16 she will face America’s Diane Jiang. If she wins that match she will then potentially have to face the world number 2 Mima Ito (JPN) who defeated her in the team final.

Tin-Tin is also playing in the doubles alongside Romanian Andreea Clapa where they cruised through the first round with a consummate 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-2) victory over Bruna Takahashi (BRA) and Monapsorn Saritapiriak (THA).
