The 54th European Youth Championships in Kazan, Russia finished off the stage 1 groups today on Day 2
Cadet Girls.
In their final group match Croatia proved too strong for England winning 3 – 1 with Tin Tin Ho winning the one match. This result left the cadets in 4th place in the group.
Cadet Boys.
Estonian Alexander Lyshin won two singles and a doubles match against England in the cadet boy’s final group match. This left all teams in the group with one win each and England topped the group on count back.
Junior Girls.
England girls played out a thrilling final group match against Lithuania. Tressa Armitage found top form and won two matches plus a win from Karina Le Fevre gave them a 3 – 2 win to put them in second place in the group.
Junior Boys.
In the second group match Hampus Sonderlund won his two matches to help Sweden to a 3 – 1 win over England.
The second match was a different story with Liam Pitchford leading the way for England winning his two singles 3 – 0 against Lithuania and with one win from Sean Cullen England won 3 – 1 to finish the group in second place.
