The longest established Junior 4*, the Tees Active Stockton Junior Open takes place at Thornaby Pavilion this weekend with an increased entry.
Saturday is dedicated to the team events and to the Cadet events where a strong entry has been received including Christopher Wheeler of Scotland, Tom Jarvis of Lincolnshire, plus Alec Ward and Billy Forster from Cleveland.
In the Cadet girls’ singles, the top seed is Emily Bolton of Cumbria with Kate McGlone of Ireland in second place.
Sunday is for the Junior and Graded events. George Downing from Dorset and Scott Barton are the top seeds in the Junior Boys Singles.
In the girls’ events, Emily Bates of Lincolnshire and Jessica Dawson of Cleveland take the top two positions with Nicole Hall of Wales and Isobel Ashley of Derbyshire in the 3rd and 4th place.
The Championship is sponsored by Tees Active Ltd, a leisure management organisation that operates sporting facilities on behalf of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
