The 2018/19 Staffordshire Schools Individual Championships were a great success this year, run and hosted by Clayton Hall Academy over two dates in February.
The Championships where supported by the following Districts in the county: Stone and Stafford, Stoke, Moorlands, Newcastle Under Lyme and Burton.
The U19 Boys’ event was won by St Joseph’s College in a straight final. I would love to see more Sixth forms and Colleges enter this age group in the coming years.
The U16 Boys’ event was won by St Joseph’s College student L Clarke, beating Clayton Hall Academy player M Blue.
In the U13 Boys’ event, A Joubert was too strong for the 24-entry field as he came through groups, quarter-final and semi-final to beat team mate S Madill.
In the U11 Boys, NULS players S Sriam beat L Joubert (Thomas Russell) after two amazing semi-finals which they both came through.
In the U19 Girls, G Harris (Wolverhampton Grammar) will fly the County flag at the National Finals.
In the U16 Girls; competition, Clayton Hall Academy duo I Murphy and L Jackson played the final, with Jackson coming out the victor.
The U13 Girls saw St Doms pair C Disley and H Molsom progress to the final, with Disley coming out on top.
In the U11 Girls, St Doms player S Plant edged out NULS player L Erian.
All winners now progress to the National Finals where they will fly the flag for Staffordshire.
