More than 2,000 young people from StreetGames initiatives have been invited to the Multi Sport Festival on Thursday August 15, 2013.

StreetGames is a sports charity that changes lives and communities by bringing doorstop sport to young people in disadvantaged communities across the UK.

Table tennis will be one of many activities taking place during the day which will run from 11am to 7pm at the Copper Box, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – the same venue that hosted the Olympic handball event.

In the region of 150 people have already signed up for the table tennis tournament with more expected to sign-up on the day.

The table tennis competition will be run by members of Focus TTC who have been tasked with delivering a fun-packed afternoon, including five table tennis tables, robots, bats and balls all played on a large area dressed for the sport. Licensed coaches Olav Stahl and Osmal Kamil will be present as well as ETTA Regional Development Manager for London, Harry Peacock.

Instant Ping Pong has also played a large part in the Street Games communities so it is likely that there will be a few IPP packs set up so that young people can try their hand in an unorthodox manner.
