South West won all three girls’ competitions as well as the Under-11 Boys as the team champions were decided at the Inter-Regional Finals.
Southern took the Under-13 Boys and Yorkshire won the Cadet Boys, while a series of play-offs decided the rest of the placings in the event at RAF Cosford.
Attention now turns to this afternoon’s individual competitions, with the overall title also up for grabs.
The closest of the South West victories was in the Under-13 Girls, where North West fought back from 2-0 down to take the match into a decider.
It looked good for South West when Lauren Loosemore and Erin Richards beat Niamh Scarborough and Ruby Bennett respectively in the opening singles.
But Scarborough & Bennett defeated Loosemore & Holly Davies in the doubles and Scarborough had a tight 3-2 triumph over Richards to tie it up.
But Loosemore was not fazed and overcame Bennett in three straight to ensure South West completed their clean sweep.
Earlier, the Cadet Girls trio of Gemma Kerr, Mari Baldwin and Angharad Beman had conceded only one set in defeating South East in their final.
Gemma said: It’s amazing to do it as a team rather than just winning individually. We were a bit nervous at the start, but it went well.”
Angharad added: “It’s really good for the girls to win all three. We were supporting each other all the time and it’s always nice to have that support.”
The Under-11 Girls’ final had been played on Saturday night, and the South West line-up of Chloe Kay, Gypsie Kay and Jennylee Colling started off their region’s roll by defeating South East 3-1.
Jennylee, aged 10, said: “I always thought we could win because the other girls play really well and have difficult serves, and I didn’t doubt myself either.”
South West boys got into the act in the Under-11 age group as Jakub Piwowar and Charlie Dolton combined to defeat East Midlands 3-1, recovering after Dolton was beaten by Cameron Driver in the first match.
It was close throughout as Piwowar overcame both Joseph Cooper and Driver in five, while the doubles was decided in four tight games.
Jakub said: “I’m very happy. We thought we could win the gold but we knew we’d have to win our doubles matches. Charlie really helped me out in the doubles and we won every match together.”
Southern completed their domination of the Under-13 Boys’ competition as they sealed victory without losing a match.
Their final was against North West, and Felix Thomis and Todd Stanmore combined to defeat Toby Ellis, Liam Murphy and Adam Dennison.
Stanmore said: “There were some tough matches, especially against South West and North West, but we played well and motivated each other and it feels good to win.”
In the Cadet Boys, Yorkshire recovered from going behind to North West as Ben McDonald defeated Che Goulbourne in five.
Nicholas Miller levelled for Yorkshire against Liam Bibby and the doubles then proved pivotal as Goulbourne & Miller won for the east side of the Pennines as they shaded a deciding set 12-10 against McDonald & James Courtney. Goulbourne sealed the gold in three straight against Bibby.
