The Regional u11-u14 South East qualification tournament took place at Byng Hall, Tonbridge, Kent on Saturday 14th April with 38 young boys looking to book their places at the National u-11-u14 championship finals in Wolverhampton.

The U-11 event was a round robin between 5 players and Hammad Ansari from Kent came out on top winning all 4 of his matches. The other qualifiers were Michael Tunubu, Chamika Weerasinghe and Liam Smith.

The U-12 event saw Ben Foster win all his matches to finish 1st and secure his place with Reiss Vydelingum 2nd,  Marcus Bracey 3rd and George Hazell 4th.

The U-13 event was fiercely contested with Sam Lu unluckily missing out after losing a close encounter with his county team mate Marcus Bracey and then losing two close in the 5th games to Ben Foster and Robert Stewart. Jack Merton showed his class by winning all his matches 3-0 and finishing 1st. Marcus Bracey improved his u-12 performance by finishing 2nd in the u-13’s and both Ben Foster and Robert Stewart completed the 4 qualifiers.

In the U-14 event Josh Bennett won group 1, dropping just the one set to Robert Stewart. Group 2 saw Blair Phillip beat the highly rated Adam Corell 3-0 to win the group. In group 3 Olamide Wuraola beat the inform Tom Windram. The winners of all 3 groups secured their places in the National finals and played a final group to confirm their finishing positions. Josh Bennett remained undefeated in 1st place with Olamide 2nd and Blair 3rd. Six other players contested the 4th-9th positions and the final coveted place in the finals. Tom Windram went on to win all his remaining matches including a close 5 set match with Shaquille Dixon to secure the 4th spot.
