Jasmin Wong was England’s best performer in the individual event at the Cadet 6 Nations as she took a bronze medal.

The Hull player won her group with four victories out of five matches, including a 3-1 (11-5, 12-10, 3-11, 11-7) defeat of compatriot Darcie Proud.

It put her into the quarter-finals, where she defeated Jocefina Haagensen of Denmark 3-2 (11-8, 7-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-2).

Her run was ended in the semi-finals bt Annett Kaufmann of Germany, who won 3-1 (12-10, 3-11, 11-9, 11-8) and went on to take the gold medal.

It was a second bronze of the event for Wong, who had helped England on to the podium in the team event earlier in the weekend.

None of the other English players in action in the Netherlands made it past the group stage. Mollie Patterson was third in her group with two wins from five, while Proud and Megan Gidney were fourth, also with two wins apiece, and Ruby Chan won one of her six matches in a bigger group.

In the boys’ event, Josh Weatherby was fourth in his group with two wins from five, while Jamie Liu won once to finish in fifth. The boys’ event was won by Borgar Haug of Norway.
